When do you pay commissions?
Commissions are paid monthly as earned
What commissions do you pay?
Commissions are based on what you request at time of quote
Will you work with an MGA?
Yes, but we do not pay overrides
Will you come to meetings/renewals with me?
Yes, we are here to support the advisor and the client/
Will you come to our office to present to our advisors?
Yes. If you have 5+ advisors or more in the office, we can issue CE credits.
What services do you provide as a TPA?
We are a full-service TPA with relationships with the top 20 insurance providers in Canada. All health and dental claims are adjudicated in-house (with the exception of drug cards with ClaimSecure).
What kind of training and support do you provide to HR staff and employees?
Anything HR staff/business owners require within our scope, we can accommodate training for.
Does The Benefits Trust pay commissions on Cost Plus?
Yes

How do we make plan design changes?
Reach out to your Administrator or Benefits Trust sales representative to discuss plan design changes.
How do we make an amendment to an existing plan?
Contact your Benefits Trust Plan Administrator.
What happens if an employee has a coverage question or issue?
Call us at 416-498-7723. We pick up the phone!
How do we adjust an unlimited plan budget?
Adjustments can be made during the year if needed. An email to your sales representative with the new budget amount will suffice.

New Business (Quotes)

What is the minimum number of employees needed to quote a group plan?
We can quote groups down to 1 employee.
What is the minimum annual funding amount required?
We require a minimum group annual budget of $3,000.
What information do you require to quote?
For existing coverage, please provide standard details such as renewal information (including claims experience), current and renewal rates, plan design, and employee data in an Excel sheet.
What is your standard quote turnaround times?
If we have everything we need to quote, our turnaround time is typically 3-5 business days. However, if we need to go to market for pooled lines, we are subject to the turnaround times of our carrier partners. If you need a quote immediately, let us know and we can expedite.
Do you offer any rate guarantees?
On the ASO health and dental, we do not offer rate guarantees. However, rate guarantees may be available on pooled lines
What are your admin fees?
It depends on commission, volume, and complexity of case. Generally, our admin fee is usually between 7% and 12% plus commission on top.
What insurance carriers do you deal with?

What is the turnaround time on a new group implementation?
Our turnaround time on average is anywhere between 2-6 weeks. This is completely case-dependent based on size and complexity.
